Wildfire victims in California qualify for disaster relief. As with recent hurricane victims, victims of the wildfires that started in California on Oct. 8 now have more time to make tax payments and file returns if they’re in counties that have been designated as federal disaster areas qualifying for individual assistance. Certain other time-sensitive acts also are postponed. The qualifying counties are Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Sonoma, Yuba, Orange and Solano.
